Burkholderia Cepacia Agar (BCSA) Pack of 20 plates
Burkholderia Cepacia Agar (BCSA) Pack of 20 plates
Product Overview:
Burkholderia Cepacia Agar (BCSA) is a selective medium designed for the isolation and differentiation of Burkholderia cepacia from respiratory secretions of Cystic Fibrosis patients. It is also suitable for the routine testing of non-sterile inorganic salts containing preservatives. BCSA provides the necessary conditions for the growth of B. cepacia while inhibiting the growth of contaminating microorganisms, making it an essential tool for clinical microbiology laboratories.
Key Features:
- Selective Isolation: Specifically formulated for the isolation of Burkholderia cepacia.
- Clinical Applications: Ideal for use in Cystic Fibrosis patient monitoring and testing of non-sterile inorganic salts with preservatives.
- Inhibition of Contaminants: Contains antibiotics (Gentamicin, Vancomycin, Polymyxin B) to suppress the growth of unwanted bacteria.
Applications:
- Selective isolation of Burkholderia cepacia from respiratory samples (e.g., sputum, bronchial lavage) of Cystic Fibrosis patients.
- Routine testing of non-sterile inorganic salts that may contain preservatives.
