Dr. Ahmed Lakhssassi is a seasoned academic and engineering leader, serving as the Director of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UQO. In addition to his departmental leadership, he holds a professorship in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and is a tenured professor in Electronic Engineering. As an IEEE Senior Member, he brings extensive expertise to his role as Director of the Engineering Module and as the head of the LIMA Laboratory. His research and specialization span rapid prototyping on FPGA and embedded systems, VLSI microsystems, thermal management, and advanced algorithms for detecting thermal peaks. Dr. Lakhssassi also focuses on the portability between technological processes, thermal image processing, and recognition within the biomedical field. His work further integrates IoT technologies with Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to enhance microsystem applications, while also addressing thermal diffusion in biological tissues and the detection of mechanical stress peaks and distortions. His multifaceted approach combines teaching, research, and active engagement in advancing material sciences and innovative engineering solutions.
