Disclosed herein is an aqueous coating composition including three different aqueous dispersions, each aqueous dispersion including a different polyurethane resin, and a crosslinking agent. Despite the high amount of water present in the aqueous coating compositions, they result in fast curing times at room temperature, thus allowing to coat substrates requiring the use of fast curing aqueous coating compositions to comply with safety and environmental standards as well as with requirements within the production process. Further disclosed herein is a method for coating a substrate using the aqueous coating composition and a coating produced by the method. Also disclosed herein is a substrate bearing a coating produced by the method.
