In this project, we intend to isolate and cultivate cancer stem cells from different types of tumours, which are more prevalent in the Arequipa region, for their phenotypic characterization, and finally to analyze the gene expression profile using state-of-the-art technology. as "next-generation sequencing". We expect that the analysis of the gene expression profile of CSCs will be significantly different from that of normal stem cells and somatic cells, as the latest research shows. Knowing the expression profile will allow us for the first time to have a gene expression database of the different types of cancer with the highest prevalence in our region. These results will contribute to the understanding of the Biology of cancer; Furthermore, CSC gene expression analysis will be crucial for a precise molecular definition of the type of Cancer, its classification and will allow proposing targets for the development of diagnostic technologies and alternative therapies for its treatment.
