Nick Bellissimo is an Associate Professor and Director of the Nutrition Discovery Labs at the School of Nutrition, Toronto Metropolitan University. With a PhD in his field, Dr. Bellissimo’s research focuses on human ingestive behavior, particularly the determinants of food intake regulation in children. His interdisciplinary research program explores the relationships between macronutrient composition, exercise, hormonal, and environmental factors, aiming to develop evidence-based guidelines for promoting healthier body weights in pediatric populations. Dr. Bellissimo has extensive experience in designing experimental trials related to diet and exercise, as well as in the development and testing of novel food ingredients and formulations to study their effects on satiety and related health biomarkers. In addition to his academic pursuits, he serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and offers his expertise as a scientific advisor to government agencies and the food industry.
