Emily Howe is a PhD candidate in Public Safety at Memorial University of Newfoundland, under the supervision of Dr. Rosemary Ricciardelli. She holds a BSc in Health Sciences from Carleton University and an MSc in Applied Psychological Science from Memorial University. Her research focuses on understanding the occupational experiences of public safety communicators, such as 911 dispatchers, particularly concerning their health and wellbeing. Emily has held various research roles, including placements with the Ottawa Police Service and Stella’s Circle, and has contributed to Canadian public safety personnel research through the CCWORK project. Her work aims to apply knowledge in social determinants of health, occupational health, and psychology to benefit underserved populations.
