Born on March 31, 1926, in Kansas, Robert John Meek was an American lawyer and politician. He served as the Attorney General of Kansas from 1957 to 1961, during a crucial period in the state's legal and political history. Known for his strong sense of integrity and commitment to public service, Meek managed significant legal cases and legislative reforms that shaped the state's justice system. He was also noted for his role in modernizing the Attorney General's office, streamlining its operations, and strengthening its oversight of state agencies. Meek was a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he earned his law degree, and remained active in legal and civic affairs throughout his life. He passed away on December 18, 2006, but his contributions to Kansas law and public service are remembered and respected.
